With an extensive range of KBA and Komori sheet-fed presses L.E.G.O. is a market leader in the production of colour books. These range from photographic, art and cookery books through to limited editions for publishers, museums and agencies.
Depending on the product these books can be printed sheet fed or on the highly cost effective and state of the art web presses. These machines print in one, two and four colours.
The Timson web presses are very cost effective allowing rapid production of high extent books and are able to print on papers as low as 28 gm.
This is a specialist area of production for which the company is well regarded. The combination of being able to print on light weight papers as well as the extensive fine binding skills allows the production of distinct volumes.
The rich heritage in binding and resultant skill base enables L.E.G.O. to produce finely bound volumes for discerning clients.
In the 1960’s L.E.G.O. played a key part in developing the specialist thin line binder now known as the Olivotto line. These lines have now been exported world-wide and allow short extent children’s books and annuals to be bound at higher speeds. The company retains three of these lines to provide books for this sector of the market.
L.E.G.O. Digital was set up to produce short run mono and colour paperbacks. A unique feature of the operations is that these digitally produced books can still be bound in the traditional thread sewn manner. They primarily cater for the domestic Italian market.
To accompany the finely printed and bound volumes L.E.G.O. also has it’s own division producing slipcases and luxury boxes.
